● 유럽의 지역별 포도 품종
와인 양조에 사용된 포도 품종이 병의 라벨에 적혀있는 신세계(미국, 남미, 호주, 남아프리카 공화국 등) 와인과 달리 유럽 와인은 지역마다 재배가 허가된 포도 품종이 정해져 있습니다. 물론 허가되지 않은 품종으로 와인을 만들 수도 있지만, 그러면 아무리 맛있는 와인을 만들어도 낮은 등급을 받게 되죠.
이렇다 보니 유럽 와인을 많이 알지 못하면 눈앞의 와인이 어떤 품종으로 만든 것인지 알 수 없는 일이 많고, 와인을 좀 마셔봤어도 낯선 지역의 와인이 나오면 품종을 알기 어려울 경우가 있습니다.
아래의 내용은 유럽 지역별로 재배가 허락된 포도 품종을 적은 것입니다. 오즈 클라크의 책에 나온 것을 옮긴 것으로 내용을 참조하면 유럽 와인 공부에 조금이나마 도움이 될 겁니다.
